About Modern Jive – the partner dance that’s fun and affordable! Its fun, easy to learn, a fantastic way to keep fit, and a brilliant way to socialise and meet new people…
Jive Riot is owned by Kelly Donoghue, and started 18 years ago! Her first class opened April 25th 1995 at The Empire Hall in Totton. Jive Riot has grown over the years to be one of the largest clubs on the south coast. We have developed a reputation for quality and attract a high level of dancer who seek a challenge! Our beginners are brought on slowly and carefully and are encouraged to develop their skills at their own pace.
Our intermediate routines are known for being different and challenging!
Why not visit one of our classes and see for yourself…. you will never look back!
Monday nights @ Ferndown British Legion Club Classes start with a beginners session at 8pm for 40 minutes, there is then a short break in which you can dance freestyle and practice the moves that you have just learned. This is then followed by an intermediate session again for another 40 minutes which is a little harder. Whilst this is happening, beginners can repeat the first session with our experienced Taxi- Dancers. This will take you up to 10pm when you can again, dance freestyle until closing at 11pm. Our Ferndown classes are led by our instructor, Carl, who is joined on stage by his Demonstrator, Sacha. We also have John, who is our resident DJ to cater for your music requests. All the team are friendly, helpful and most of all – ready to dance! – so don’t be afraid to ask. Royal British Legion Members can come to our classes at Ferndown for a discounted price – just show your membership card at the door. Jive Riot @ Ferndown Events
