So we had our own presentation night,
We got our award for 2nd Best Progressive Club in the British Legion.
Our Darts Team and Our Pool Team, with a winning season behind them, hopefully fired up for more next year.
Once again we had Garry J Foley appearing in the hall as Elvis.
The night was started by Miss Claire Louise Orchard, singing to a packed hall.
Once again the party spirit, with other drinks available, reigned supreme at the Royal British Legion Club Ferndown.
The club was packed with revelers enjoying the entertainment leading up to seeing in the New Year.
Like normal, fancy dress was optional but there were those that entered into the spirit more than others…..
The lounge bar had Just Jeff entertaining them,
and the hall had the disco this year.
The usual Sunday “fun quiz” was transformed with Christmas jumpers and tinsel the order of the day. The fun quiz evening included an amazing rendition of “A partridge in a pear tree”.
Another excellent night at the Legion.
Fun quiz nights continue every Sunday.
The Poppy Darts tournament on the 4th November.
The night was enjoyable and ended with the winners for the Ladies being Clare Dacombe and Steve Watson winning the Mens
Well Done to Paul Randal for organising.
Saturday Was the opening of the Ferndown Dementia Friendly Steering Group Allotments.
The idea was born when Oakley House Community Mental Health Centre lost the Saint Leonards Community Hospital Gardening Club to redevelopment.
We couldn’t have established this allotment without funding. This has been provided by a grant from Ferndown Town Council, the organising of a black tie function by the Ferndown Royal British Legion Club and the Captains Charity from Dudsbury Golf Club which is still raising money till April. For £150 a raised bed and a dedication plaque can be purchased.
The Mayor of Ferndown, Cathy Lugg to formally open this allotment for the benefit of Ferndown by cutting the ribbon.
